There are obvious exceptions to the rule, and Edin Dzeko, Didier Drogba, Fernando Torres, and Wayne Rooney are all strikers that should certainly be signed if possible; more often than not it has been my Brazilian strikers that have impressed me most however, and I shall here list some of the Brazilian strikers that I have found to be amongst the very best.

Players such as Pato, Guilherme, and Neymar I was really very impressed with in Football Manager 2009, and in Football Manager 2010 I have discovered that the same names are once again hammering in the goals when brought to the English Premier League.

Vagner Love was always a player that was raved about in FM2009, and in 2010 he is once again a striker to sign. The CSKA Moscow man really can grab an incredible number of goals, and if you’re in need of an extra player upfront then you can definitely do a lot worse than signing Vagner Love.

The previously mentioned Alexandre Pato of AC Milan is another striker that can bang in the goals, and although not my personal favourite, he is very young at the start of the game and if you do sign him then you’ll have a quality striker for many seasons to come. Guilherme (CSKA Moscow) and Neymar (Santos) were the other two players I mentioned before as having been brilliant in FM2009, and given that Neymar is only 17 at the start of the game, he is another player that can serve you well for many seasons. Guilherme was my absolute favourite striker to sign in FM2009, and once again in FM2010 I have found him to be an absolutely stunning signing. More often than not he scores when he starts, and if you’re managing a team with ambitions of winning the title then Guilherme is most definitely a player to invest in.

In Football Manager 2009 I never came across the Brazilian attacking midfielder/forward Taison (Internacional), in FM2010 he has been one of my very favourite purchases however, several times finishing the season as my top goalscorer. Taison is another player that I’d most definitely recommend signing, and if you do so then I’m sure that you’ll be hugely impressed with his ability in front of goal.

Villarreal’s Nilmar is another striker to watch out for, a 25 year-old that can definitely pitch in with a goal or two when you most require it.

Last, but definitely not least, Sevilla’s Luis Fabiano is a Brazilian striker that I have had varied success with in Football Manager 2010. He’s an expensive purchase, and at 28 years-old should perhaps not be the player at the top of your transfer wishlist, I have had great success with Luis Fabiano however, and although I’ve also signed him once or twice and had it not work out; Fabiano can definitely become a key member of your squad. Fabiano is a big strong striker with a real eye for goal, and at best can be a real difference maker in your squad.

I’m sure there are some other strong Brazilian strikers that I’ve perhaps missed out here, and if you know any of your own that you feel are worthy of a mention then please do feel free to leave a comment below.

Football Manager 2010 was no different, and when the FM2010 Demo was released I was very excited to start playing as my team of choice, Oxford United. It didn’t take me too long at all to get to January in the game, and having now started a new demo game as Manchester City; I feel that the time has come to provide my first thoughts on Football Manager 2010.

The first thing that strikes you about Football Manager 2010 when you start playing is the new interface. For a number of years now the Football Manager look has remained pretty consistent, the interface has now been completely revamped however and looks very impressive for it. I must admit that I had got very used to the old interface, and when I first played FM2010 the new look therefore came as quite a shock; it didn’t take me long to get used to the new interface however, and I do in fact feel now that it has been improved, and Sports Interactive has made the game even stronger in this area.

When you sign a new player in FM2010 you can now choose to hold a press conference, and this is a very cool feature to have been added to the game. Each year Sports Interactive just keeps making the game better, and this is definitely one of the new features that I’ve been incredibly impressed with having played the demo.

The 3D match engine looks to have been improved, and in addition to this, crowds have been added to enhance the game’s realism. One thing I have picked up on about the FM2010 Demo crowds is that when managing Oxford United none of the fans wore yellow shirts, and yet managing Manchester City there are plenty of sky blue shirts in the crowd (and plenty of shirts in the crowd for the opposition side also). Not really sure why the Oxford fans don’t wear shirts and yet fans from the Football League do but there you go; maybe this is something that will be resolved for when the full game is released. It would also be a nice touch if every in-game stadium was an accurate representation of the real life stadium, one step at a time though I guess, and I suppose it’s not too bad a situation when your home ground is given four sides rather than its real number of three.

There are some very interesting new features with Football Manager 2010, small tweaks that have made my favourite football management sim even greater, and once again Sports Interactive appears to have put together a very impressive game. It’s easy to shout touchline instructions in the middle of a match, the game seems more fun than ever to play, and overall here I definitely feel that some very positive tweaks and changes have occurred.

The initial signs are strong with Football Manager 2010, and I now can’t wait to play the full-game when it’s released. Football Manager 2010 is a game that I can most definitely see myself spending many happy hours playing over the coming weeks and months.

Football Manager has never let us down yet, and having introduced the 3D match engine last time out; Football Manager 2010 looks all set to improve upon the 3D action first introduced last year.

For the first time in Football Manager history, Football Manager 2010 will introduce the option to create your own new leagues. You can add to already existing set-ups, so you could for instance add leagues from lower down the English league system than currently available, or simply start afresh by creating an entirely new league system. An actual ‘Champions League’ could be created for instance in which you could place the Champions of each top level league in Europe, or you may even wish to make an even broader league, featuring some of your favourite teams from all over the world. The choice is absolutely yours; you could have Manchester United playing in a league with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, and AC Milan, or perhaps even create a league for fun where teams such as Liverpool, Wolfsburg, and Marseille may have to make the trip to Oxford United’s Kassam Stadium.

Football Manager 2010 will provide a fantastic new level of fantasy, and I for one will no doubt have great fun setting up elaborate new league systems, as well as employing my favourite old Football Manager tactic of taking on a team from the lower levels and looking to take them as high as possible.

October 30th is the date that Football Manager 2010 will be released, and that is when the football management fun will finally begin.
