DJ Hero Retail Price Announced

Posted on 06 July 2009 by Rich

DJ Hero Grandmaster FlashThe official RRP for DJ Hero has now been announced, and the game is to retail at a price of £107.99. Quite a steep price tag for the game really, HMV has already announced that it will be selling the game for £99.99 however, and I’m sure that a lot of other stores will follow in issuing a cheaper price for the game.

DJ Hero has already been causing quite a stir, and enjoyed a very successful launch party at the beginning of June at which Eminem and Jay-Z performed, along with a number of very high profile DJs.

DJ Hero is all set to hit the shelves later on this year, and I can definitely see this game being on the Christmas list of many.

DJ Hero Has Its Launch Party

Posted on 02 June 2009 by Rich

After the success of the Guitar Hero video game series; Activision is branching out, and a launch party was held on June 1st for its DJ Hero video game which is all set to hit the shelves later this year.

Eminem and Jay-Z closed the party in supreme style with their incredible MC ability, and such stars were in attendance as Leonardo DiCaprio, Ali Larter, Vanessa Minnillo, and even rock stars Mark Hoppus and Pete Wentz.

Travis Barker and DJ AM opened the show with their mixing, and Warren G was also there to please the crowds with his DJ skills. It was only right that the DJ Hero launch party should include such a fantastic selection of talented DJ stars, with DJ AM actually one of the DJs to have provided original mixes for DJ Hero, along with DJ Shadow, DJ Z-Trip, and Daft Punk.

Despite the quality bill of DJ talent; the best was most definitely saved till last at the DJ Hero launch party, and it was almost midnight by the time that Jay-Z and Eminem took to the stage to wow the celebrity masses.

Jay-Z was up first, and launched through a set which included such tracks as ’99 Problems’, ‘Encore’, ‘H To The Izzo’, and ‘My President is Black’, before combining forces with Eminem for ‘Renegade’. Eminem then bounced through a few tracks of his own from his new ‘Relapse’ album, closing the set with ‘Lose Yourself’ and well and truly getting the LA crowd on their feet.

It was a very successful night of entertainment for the launch of the new video game, and Activision was able to show off its new DJ Hero video game, complete with a fantastic line-up of talented musicians to lighten the mood and make sure that all in attendance enjoyed their evening.

DJ Hero is Coming

Posted on 30 May 2009 by Rich

Guitar Hero has been pleasing rock fans for a number of years now, but Activision is now to release a game that will target turntablists across the world; DJ Hero.

Featuring artists such as Justice, 50 Cent, and N.E.R.D., DJ Hero will feature over 80 mixed tracks in total, and will consist of tracks from a number of different genres including hip-hop, R&B, and electronica.

Dance world superstars DJ Shadow, DJ Z-Trip and DJ AM have put together the mixes, and DJ Hero has the definite potential to be absolutely brilliant.

It’ll be interesting to see how all the different elements of DJing are integrated into the gameplay, and should the game prove to be a success then I’m sure that well see many more DJ Hero titles released in the future. How about a DJ Hero Drum & Bass edition, Activision?
