In 2007 Bungie released Halo 3 and ever since people have been hooked on it’s crazy 16 player online mode, and late last year, after a summer drought of good games ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper) it was a fairly hefty update. Well, back to Mythic Map Pack 2, not much detail has been given out about it from Bungie, well this being their most acclaimed game I think they’d want to keep most things under wraps, however, I can inform you it will cost a mere 800MSP.

Millions of people have been patiently waiting for it and most bought it on the day of release and still up to now people are buying it and there are some who intend to buy it still. In the first day of selling there were 7 million units shifted, and grossed around £47 million. Quite a title to have bestowed on the game, IW are very correct to be proud of their biggest title to date.

Well it was back in September that Bungie released Halo:ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper) but that was back in the golden days of 2009, when we had just had a summer drought of good games. So here we are in 2010 and Bungie have just announced they will be releasing a new map pack for Halo 3, Mythic Map Pack 2, this will release on 2nd of Febuary.
I’m sure your all more than aware of the Haiti appeal after last week’s earthquake, well Bungie have had a good idea, well it was probably stolen off IW and their weekend on MW2 for chairty, anyway, they have said they will donate 100 USD to the Red Cross for every 1000 players. They have said they are willing to donate anything up to 77,000 USD to the appeal. So get playing!

If you’re not looking forward to Green Day: Rock Band then fear not; there will be more than one Rock Band game released in 2010 says MTV Games.
Speaking with Newsarama, Senior Vice President of MTV Games Paul DeGooyer has said that “It’s of course not going to be our only game this year.”
This is most definitely good news for rhythm game enthusiasts, and although a Rock Band 3 release is yet to be officially confirmed, 2010 could well be the year that the game will land.

With the full band package setting you back about £150; Guitar Hero/Rock Band can be quite an expensive hobby to have. You can opt to purchase the game and guitar package, by doing so you’re losing out on two very fun components of the game though, and to buy the official equipment you will still need to shell out a fair amount extra in order to experience the game in its full glory. Right now Amazon is selling the Mad Catz Rock Band Portable Drum Kit for just £7.25 though and this therefore offers a very affordable way to kick off your plastic drumming career.
Right now you can buy Rock Band complete with the Mad Catz Portable Drum Kit and Microphone for just £33.97, or Rock Band 2 with the microphone and drum kit for just £46.97. This really is a great price for buying the game complete with its (arguably) best components, and a guitar can soon be sought out if needs be.
A review of the Mad Catz Rock Band Portable Drum Kit will soon be added to the site, if you don’t already have a drum kit for your fake plastic rock game of choice though then I’d definitely recommend investing in this piece of kit from Mad Catz.

A playable Bayonetta demo is to be released on December 3rd, with Platinum Games all set to release it online through the Playstation Network and Xbox Live throughout the United States and Europe.
Bayonetta has already hit the shelves in Japan, in Europe we’re going to have to wait until January to get our hands on the full game however, so it’ll be interesting to see what the demo can offer when it’s released next week.
Edge definitely approves of the game, awarding it a perfect score of 10/10, and it’ll be interesting to see whether or not the general public agree that the game is genuinely flawless when Bayonetta hits the stores early next year.

Games programmer Jeff Strain has today announced the formation of Undead Labs, a Seattle-based game development studio with a sole focus to create a console-based zombie MMO.
Speaking on the subject of zombies, Strain had the following to say:
Every time I see a good zombie movie with friends, we spend days debating our strategies for surviving the zombie apocalypse. The police station or the supermarket? Garden rake or staple gun? Bach or The White Stripes? I’m a game developer, so I’d probably be useless for anything other than ghoul bait, but I’m excited to have the opportunity to build an MMOZ that lets us put those strategies to the test and find out for sure.
The official Undead Labs website is a good site to visit to keep you informed of any updates, and given Jeff Strain’s great experience programming top MMORPG titles such as World of Warcraft and Guild Wars, the Undead Labs zombie MMO is sure to be supremely impressive and a great amount of fun to play.
The Undead Labs website will be updated several times monthly, with features on the studio, the development process, design direction, the industry etc. Subscribe to the Undead labs RSS feed through Feedburner to have the latest posts delivered directly to you by e-mail.

Six months into the fiscal year with 4.3 million consoles sold, Sony is still confident of reaching 13 million Playstation 3 sales by the end of the fiscal year.
For the fiscal year of 2008, Sony was able to sell 10.1 million units, and if the 2009 target can indeed be reached then this will demonstrate progress on Sony’s behalf. There’s still quite a way to go and reaching the intended target will inevitably be tough, with Christmas fast approaching sales are sure to rise however, and Sony could well reach that magic 13 million figure.
Sales figures will need to rise almost 100% in the second half of the year if Sony is to hit target, Christmas is always a big period though and Sony will no doubt be well prepared for the push.
